Privacy Policy

• Account information when you sign up: your name and email address, provided directly or via a third-party login (Google or Microsoft).
• Profile information you choose to give us: your location (such as town or postcode), what you farm or your role in agriculture, and the topics or interests you follow.
• Viewing and usage information: which content you watch, follow, save or engage with, and how you use the site.
• Technical information: device, browser, IP address, and similar information collected automatically, including through analytics tools.
• Information you submit: messages, story pitches, partnership enquiries, or other content you send us.

We collect information directly from you (when you sign up, fill in a form, or use the site), automatically (through cookies and analytics as you use the site), and from third-party login providers (Google or Microsoft) when you choose to sign in with them - in which case we receive basic account details such as your name and email.

We use your personal information to:

• create and manage your account and let you watch content;
• personalise the content and recommendations we show you;
• send you updates, including notifications about new episodes (where you've opted in);
• understand our audience and improve our content and service;
• produce aggregated, de-identified anonymous audience insights (see section 5);
• respond to your enquiries and stories; and
• meet our legal obligations.

A core part of how Station operates is sharing aggregated and de-identified information about our audience with content partners, sponsors, industry bodies and funders - for example, "a certain number of beef producers in a particular region watch this type of content."

We do not sell or share information that identifies you individually for this purpose. Aggregated insights are grouped and de-identified and completely anonymous so that individual people cannot reasonably be identified from them.

We may disclose personal information to:

• service providers who help us run the site and our service, including our website/app platform (Base44), analytics providers (such as Google Analytics), authentication providers (Google, Microsoft), and any email or hosting providers we use;
• professional advisers, or where required or authorised by law; and
• a buyer or successor if Station or its assets are sold or transferred.

We do not sell your individually identifiable personal information.

Some of our service providers (for example, analytics, authentication or hosting providers) may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States or other countries. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.

We use cookies and similar technologies, including analytics tools such as Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly if you disable them.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. No online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can access or update most of your information through your account. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us at hello@onstation.com.au. We will respond in accordance with the Privacy Act.

We may send you updates and marketing about Station. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Notifications you specifically signed up for (like episode alerts) can be managed in your account.

If you have a privacy concern or complaint, contact us at hello@onstation.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Station is intended for adults and is not directed at or designed for children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

If you believe a person under 18 has created an account or provided us with their information, please contact us at hello@onstation.com.au and we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

We do not build profiles of, or direct marketing to, children, and we do not knowingly use any minor's information to create the aggregated audience insights described in this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with the "last updated" date.

The Station app may ask for your permission to use certain device features. We only request access when you (or an authorised Station staff member) choose to use a feature that needs it, and denying any of these permissions does not stop you from watching content or using the rest of the app.

• Camera: so you can take a photo or short video to attach to a story pitch, partner enquiry, or - for authorised staff - to upload a show thumbnail or clip. For example, you might photograph a scene on your farm to submit as a story idea.
• Microphone: to record the audio when you record a short video clip to attach to a submission or upload as content.
• Photo library: so you can pick an existing photo or video from your library to attach to a story pitch, partner enquiry, or upload as show content.
• Notifications: with your permission, Station can send push notifications to let you know when a new episode, premiere, or announcement is available.

You can change or withdraw these permissions at any time in your device's Settings. We do not use the camera, microphone, or photo library to collect information about you without you choosing to attach or upload media, and any media you attach is used only for the purpose you intended.
