Introducing Ultimate Yards: A litte inspiration. A lot of yard envy!
A new series in development for STATION will take viewers on a tour of some of Australia’s coolest and most interesting cattle yards, sharing ideas and showing what’s possible.

Ultimate Yards is a new series in development for STATION, touring some of the coolest and most interesting cattle yards across Australia.
We’ll meet the farmers behind them, have a proper look around and ask the questions you’d ask if you were standing there yourself. Why that layout? Does that gate work as well as it looks? What would you change? And, somewhere along the way the most important question - what did it all cost?
There are good, and there are amazing setups all over the country. But if there's one thing we know to be true about life on the land, most producers don’t get much chance to visit them. There’s work to do at home, the neighbours aren’t always particularly close, and “I’m heading off to look at someone’s cattle yards” can be a difficult sell when there’s a list of jobs on the fridge.
We’re doing the visiting for you.
Each episode will take viewers through a different set of yards with the person who knows them best. We’ll explore the big design decisions, the clever little additions and the things you only discover after putting cattle through them.
“Most farmers would happily spend a morning looking around someone else’s yards, but they rarely get the chance,” says STATION founder Dylan Webber. “That felt like a great concept for a TV series. Let’s go out and do the touring, have them (producers) walk us through their setup and show us what makes it worth a look.”
It might be an impressive new build. It might be an old set of yards with a homegrown modification that makes you wonder why you didn’t think of it years ago.
Sometimes the thing worth stealing is an idea someone knocked together on a quiet afternoon.
The aim is to show what’s possible and give viewers something to bring back to their own place.
Perhaps that’s a small improvement. Perhaps it’s the answer to a problem that’s been annoying them for years. Perhaps it’s a sketch on the back of an envelope that becomes a slightly uncomfortable budget conversation.
Expect honest opinions, good ideas and the occasional feature you’ll need to rewind for a second look.
“What I love about this is that people will notice completely different things,” Webber says. “There’s so much automation out there now which is really cool to watch, and that’ll interest plenty of viewers. But I reckon some of the best moments will be seeing how a producer has thought something through and having the audience watching wondering, ‘How didn’t I think of that?'' "If we can get a bit of yard envy happening I think we've done our job with this show!"
Ultimate Yards. All the enjoyment of looking around someone else’s setup, without having to get home in time to feed up.
We accept no responsibility for what you spend on new ideas afterwards - haha!
Ultimate Yards launches with the Station platform in July 2027. Don't miss it!
